Hello, Future World-Changers! 

Let’s be honest for a second! Being a youth leader in 2024 isn’t always as easy as it seems. We’re out here trying to make a difference, but it’s not always going the way we want as young leaders. So, what’s the solution? Get ready because we are here to untangle this mess. 

1. The Pressure is Too High!

Think about it for a second, society’s expectations for young leaders are so high! They expect every single one of us to do extremely big changes and actions to call ourselves leaders. Don’t get me started on our own expectations and pressure we put on ourselves to save the world in one night.

2. The Digital Jungle is Wild 🦁

Because of social media and seeing all these world changers doing big changes going zero waste overnight we sometimes feel like we are the weak chain and do less than we need to. That’s not the case! Every step matters and every little change leads to a bigger one!

3. Burnout is Lurking Around Every Corner 🔥

We’re passionate, we’re driven, and we’re… exhausted. Balancing school, work, leadership roles, and oh yeah, having a life? It’s like trying to do everything at once keeping our mental health and saving the world. Do not forget to be king to yourself!

5. The World’s Problems Feel Too Big 🌍

Climate change, social injustice, economic inequality – the list goes on. We want to make a difference, but sometimes the problems feel so massive, it’s like trying to empty the ocean with a teaspoon. How do we even start? Or starting from somewhere really makes the difference? 

6. Finding Our Voice in a Noisy World 🔊

Everyone’s got an opinion, and they’re all so loud. How do we make our voices heard? It’s like trying to whisper while everyone is yelling. That’s why we need our communities and try to do the change with people instead of alone

7. The Struggle to Be Taken Seriously 🧐

Just because we’re young doesn’t mean we don’t know our stuff. But try telling that to the adults in the room who think we’re just “kids playing leader.” We’re fighting a battle to prove ourselves every single day.

So, What Now? 🚀

Look, the challenges are real, but so are we. We’re a generation of fighters, innovators, and dreamers. Yeah, it’s tough out there, but we’ve got this. We’re learning, growing, and changing the game one step at a time.

To all my fellow youth leaders out there – you’re not alone. We’re in this together, facing these challenges head-on. So let’s keep pushing, keep innovating, and keep leading. The world needs us, challenges and all.

It’s time to find your community in AIESEC and start making your voice louder, start trying to change things with our communities. The best way to do this is try new things, getting out of our comfort zone with global volunteer!
