3 ways to boost the company culture during the holiday season

with No Comments

So it’s that time again when we have to wear our ugly sweaters, put up our Christmas trees and listen to Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas’ (singing in an off tune voice ‘…all I want for Christmas is youuuuuu….’). I love Mariah Carey, I don’t care what you’ll have to say. She’s a legend. So since I have been given the freedom to write what I want in this blog, I will give you a few things that should be considered to be done by your companies every festive season to boost the company culture.

Establish holiday traditions

Companies should work towards creating an environment that is motivating to work in by employees. One way to do this is to create a create a culture that allows workers to always have traditions that they participate in during the festive holidays. For me as an employee, I always enjoy Christmas time as I get the opportunity to have a secret Santa (each employee picks a name from the jar of another employee and must buy a Christmas present for them) as I get a surprise. This year I received four packets of chicken feet (lol), I love chicken feet and the surprise was amazing. This made me feel even closer to the team and appreciate my time with them throughout the year.

Throw that party

Companies should always throw an end of the year party during the festive season. This is one good way to show appreciation towards your employees for all the awesome work they did throughout the year. In addition, using the material from the party for marketing purposes helps to promote the company not only to customers as they see the humanity of the company but also to potential employees who will consider joining the company due to its work culture.

Shutting down shop

Companies should always close down the shop when the festive season comes around. There are many good reasons to do so. The first one is you will improve the productivity of workers within the company by being able to provide them a time for rest which is essential for productivity and health. Another reason is that allowing your workers to take off and close the office will reduce the amount of overhead of opening the company. Expenses such as electricity, gas, heating and water will be reduced as nobody will be using the office.

That’s it people. Those are few things that you can do in your company to make the end of the year special for your employees. As the year is coming to an end and you wonder how you can contribute to making the world a better place go on ahead and click
here. We here wish everyone who reads this Happy Holidays. See you all on the other side.
