As youth, we are carried away by various things. We talk about a lot of trending topics, initiate discussions of minimalist value like selfie angles to deliberations upon how climate change is affecting us and in the same globe of thoughts we know which one makes us appear smarter.

It is a no brainer that when you have conversations about things that hold importance in and around the world, it makes you look more credible in terms of both knowledge and experience. It is the knowledge you possess, the information you have to offer to others that differentiates you from the rest of the crowd.

Knowledge, in many terms, can be massively dimensional of what our day to day lives are. Something that is even more important and simultaneously advantageous is awareness. Awareness, in the sense, that you know a certain thing exists, why it exists and what exactly the talk around it is all about.

One of my favourite Russian writer Leo Tolstoy once wrote “If, then, I were asked for the most important advice I could give, that which I considered to be the most useful to the men of our century, I should simply say: in the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you.”  (Essays, Letters and Miscellanies)

The world issues demand attention now more than ever. It is a never ending cycle of important news that we as youth need to keep a tab on. Not just because when you open your mouth you appear smarter than someone else because you know what’s going on but also because a smart person knows that everything that happens across the borders is somehow connected to all of us.

Each of us have to be interested in world issues if we want to build ourselves to be better knowledge possessors, to be better leaders. We have an equal say in the world issues. We are to be opinionated and that is how you find a way out towards being a world citizen who is ready to exemplify leadership.
