Hammamet, Tunisia, February 8, 2019 – Under the High Patronage of the head of Tunisian government Mr. Youssef Chahed, the AIESEC International Presidents Meeting 2019 is taking place in Hammamet, Tunisia from February 12th to 19th. This conference brings together over 170 young leaders from over 120 countries and territories, each of whom is the country head of their respective national AIESEC offices.

The objective of this conference is to decide on the future direction of the organization as well as to advance leadership and soft skills of the attendees.

This conference plays a strategic role in AIESEC’s annual leadership handover as the attendees convene to elect the organization’s new Global President for the term 2019-2020.  The elected president will officially begin their term leading the global office in Montreal, Canada on the 1st of September 2019.

In addition to electing the new Global President of AIESEC for the 2019-2020 term, this conference will also host a Partnerships Day themed ‘Leaders for 2030’. Partners of AIESEC will engage with the attendees, having discussions around the top trends shaping the world, essential skills to lead in the 21st century and collaborations needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

One of the highlights of the conference is the “Global Village”, where every country and territory that AIESEC is present in showcases their culture through their traditional outfits, food, music, and culture, as well as provide awareness about local and national community issues.

AIESEC in Tunisia is honored to host this International Presidents Meeting under the theme ‘Tunisia, a hub of International Entrepreneurship and Cultural Diversity’ and be an example of youth engaging in solving local, national and global issues.

“6 months ago, hosting such an international conference was almost impossible, but we, as part of a Youth Leadership Movement in Tunisia believe that the impossible is not Tunisian and whatever we do is going to be meaningful for us, the country and the world.” – Aziz Messai, President of AIESEC in Tunisia.
