Hurghada, Egypt, July 4, 2018 – On the 4th of July, AIESEC organized the 5th Global Youth Speak Forum in Hurghada, Egypt. This year the event counted with 650 delegates from over 120 countries and territories under the theme “Living the Goals”.

YouthSpeak Forum is a premiere event that brings together young and senior leaders to form a diverse cross-sector and multi-generational space for inspiring conversations around pressing global issues.

The theme aims to empower youth to take action on the Global Goals and learn from organizations that are currently taking proactive steps towards these. The 2018 forum theme focuses on the following SDGs: SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 16: Peace and Justice.

As the previous forums, this edition was framed into the unique and interactive framework of Inspire, Engage, Act. Throughout the day, the delegates participated in a challenge to further their understanding of the SDGs and identify what concrete actions they can take towards the Global Goals.

During the meal time at the Forum, the delegates were challenged to interact with partners and complete tasks that are based on the Young Person’s Guide: Changing the World Edition, that AIESEC co-created with UN Volunteers and other partners. To access the guide click here.

The World Largest Lesson took over this year’s action space following the successful launch at last Global YouthSpeak Forum in Colombia, where the activation was delivered in partnership with UNICEF. More information about World Largest Lesson here.

Together with multiple partners, AIESEC engaged more than 550 young people and helped educate over 5,000 local citizens about the Sustainable Development Goals during this Youth Speak Forum.

For Abdelrahman Ayman, President of AIESEC International 2017-18, and Mohamed Fadel, President of AIESEC International 2018-19, this year has a special meaning since Youth Speak Forum will be hosted by their home country, Egypt. It’s an honor for them to receive more than 120 nationalities and bring the World Largest Lesson to Hurghada.
